I thought there were lots of deserts in Australia. One of my stories in Spirits of the West is all about the Boers trying to trek across the Kalahari desert. It didn’t go well for them, of course, because I write about ghosts.

There ARE heaps of deserts in Aus, I’ve just never been. More of a country girl.
The Kalahari is a classic desert. I’d love to get over there one day and see the whole country.

South Africa has a lot to recommend it and amazing natural beauty, but there is a lot of crime here and it is escalating. It is a terrible shame. I’ve not visited Australia, I’ve only been to New Zealand. Maybe one day…

We’re the same with the natural beauty. Maybe better when it comes to crime, but there are still some areas you shouldn’t go to. I guess everywhere’s getting a bit worse these days.
