This bite sized read is all action, suspense, thriller, and intrigue – and the best bit is, you can find out just what the heck is going on in a morning’s read if you want to devour “I Wouldn’t Be Surprised: A Short Story” by D.L. Finn(which I did!).
Hapless Janice and Dale are thrust into a dangerous game of cat and mouse seemingly overnight, starting with an innocent gift of cookies left in their front yard. Things snowball as more ‘gifts’ are left, along with ominous notes, and soon creepy figures start stalking Janice in more than an intimidating manner.
Events escalate to unbelievable proportions, culminating in a revelation that ties in beautifuly with other works by D.L. Finn (though you needn’t have read them to fully enjoy “I Wouldn’t Be Suprised”.).
The moral of the tale is, be careful what you say…you never know how your words might be taken!

I’ve seen some wonderful reviews on this short story, Jess. And I’ve read other books by Denise, so it’s fun to hear that this one ties in. 🙂 Congrats to Denise on the great review.

A great review, Jess. I loved this one too. Denise packed a fully formed and engrossing story into such a short read. I thought the suspense was so well done!

This sounds like a great read, Jessica. I must read some short stories once I’m over the hump of my committed reads. I also have yours on my pile.
