I recently got to reading Victoria Ray’s adventure/thriller romp, Sophia von X – what a ride! This book reads like an action-packed adventure film (think National Treasure), with a liberal dose of philosophical mystery (now think The DaVinci Code).
The story follows Sabina Ferrara, a young woman carrying her own weight of emotional baggage from a failed, abusive marriage, as she takes a ride across Europe to visit a newly unearthed miracle – the supposed tomb of Jesus Christ.
Sabina is quickly caught up in a web of intrigue, action, and deception as she struggles to learn whom she can trust, and who wants to cover up the truth…and eliminate her in the process!
Author Ray has no qualms tackling the Big Issues in life – religion, dogma, family dynamics – and is not shy about delving into life’s seedy underbelly, pitting the heroine up against everything from a psychotic ex-husband to branches of the mafia.
I can’t give away much more without spoiling anything; suffice it to say, Sophia von X is one for adventure and thriller aficianados, who enjoy their romps taut and heart hammering!
“Author Ray has no qualms tackling the Big Issues in life – religion, dogma, family dynamics – and is not shy about delving into life’s seedy underbelly, pitting the heroine up against everything from a psychotic ex-husband to branches of the mafia.” This has me intrigued. Thanks, Jessica.

Sounds like an exciting read, Jess. I liked both National Treasure and The Davinci Code. And a cool cover. Thanks for the recommendation! So many great books out there…
