I finally got back to writing today. Not editing book 1, not rereading or editing book 2, but actual writing… and like any other muscle, my writing muscle is out of shape!
I only got 1300 words done for a whole afternoon of effort. Woe. Boo.
But, I’m writing again and that means book 2 is starting to take shape.
Now, off for my shower… where the real writing happens…
*Extra juicy news: as book 1 is now at the editor for final proofing before pubbing, it shouldn’t be much longer before I drop a cover reveal!
Ah…missed your lovely ramblings.
Hope you’re well, honey

1300 words in an afternoon is great. I’m lucky to get that in a whole day! I’ll bet it feels good to be writing. Enjoy the accomplishment.

Congrats on getting your writing mojo back. 1300 words is 1300 words that weren’t there before. I can’t wait to see your cover reveal!
P.S….have you thought about doing NaNo for book 2? A small group of us are planning on tackling it this year.

Thanks Mae 😊
To be honest, I’m not even sure how NaNo works! I might have to look into it…

The idea is that you try to write a 50K novel in 30 days–during the month of November. Check the website NaNoWriMo.org for info. If you hit that 50K mark you “win.” I have a Story Empire post coming up in early October with tips how to win 🙂

1300 is good! That’s almost full-fledged daily Nano distance.

The key is that your book is taking shape. It’s fascinating, isn’t it. The way these characters of ours grow and become their own person, exploring a world we created. I’ll never tire of that.

It is exciting isn’t it? Slightly annoying when they (characters) don’t do what they’re supposed to though 😁
