I’m nearly all better now and shall be returning to WordPress activity soon. Finding my writing mojo again is going to be a bit more tricky; I’m massively uninspired right now. I have editing to finish on my WIP, an untold number of other books I want to write… but no motivation to do any of it. Advice to get out of the slump?
Catch up with you all soon!
Get well soon.
I know when you have a lot to do and the gremlins seem to creep up on you, it’s like your body is protesting.
Keep thinking positively and hold on tight. Get better soon.

I’m glad you’re almost better, sorry you’re not 100%. Inspiration is a whole different beast. Hope your muse finds you soon.

I always tell myself motivation comes after you start, not the other way around. It’s an inertia/momentum thing.
Glad you’re feeling better!

That’s a good idea… I think I just have to sit at the computer and go, rather than wait for the ‘go’ to find me. 🤗

I have two different beliefs that I use here. One is to lace up my boots and get to work. This applies to edits and getting the book out the door. My other one involves all those ideas swirling around. I take my good ones and make each one a storyboard. An incomplete board with index cards about ideas and possibly a few graphics. This way, I always have something I can move forward on. The last step is unusual, but old trees seem to help. Don’t laugh. Just hanging out in the peaceful forest can bring me some great inspiration and clarity about which storyboard to move to the next phase.

Thanks Craig. Yeah, I think I need to put on my big girl pants and just do it. The trees idea is interesting. I might have to find a nice foresty spot and go for a walk.

It doesn’t cost much to try.

I’d say focus on feeling better and then return to writing. I bet one will beget the other.

I agree with Jacqui. You’re probably not inspired because you’re still not 100%. It takes time to spring back from the flu. Concentrate on feeling better, and I bet the motivation will magically appear. 🙂

Ugh it’s been a rotten winter here. So many people have been hit with flu this year. Three weeks and I’m still coughing 😓
I hope my mojo comes back!

I agree with all the comments, inspiration will return the minute you feel like picking up the pen…

I have to concur with some of the others, concentrate in getting yourself better before you take on anything else.

I’m sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well, Jessica — but happy to have found you via Robbie’s blog. 🙂
For me the lack of “writing” mojo, is usually the non-writing things that drain me. It helps me in general, and so in writing to listen to positive thought things, whether on YouTube, CDs, or any other format. Wishing you well. Hugs.

Thanks for the lovely words Teagan 🙂
Music is a big influence for me… I need to get back into some mood music 😉
