Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Super Wife and Mummy! That’s right, this week’s member inducted into The Oucast’s Bloghouse is heroic, Maria Super Wife and Mummy of Life, Family, Good Food Blog.
The amazing (and delightful) Super Woman (as I like to dub her), was actually proclaimed the Super Wife and Mummy by herself because, well, no one else was going to!
As practically everyone says when referring to themselves here in the blogosphere, Maria has been writing forever, though tragically and to the detriment of the world at large, is currently unpublished.
When asked to contribute a bit about her origins for the Bloghouse, Maria chose to deliver an introspective third-person piece of serious reflection… or not…
“[Maria] recalls humble beginnings in the s****y city of Birmingham, UK- where, as a child, she was quiet, unassuming and largely disregarded by everyone as relatively insignificant and so she read widely, played alone and wondered why all the blonde English girls’ hair was flowing and straight like a Timote advert and hers was curly, immovable and uncontrollable. She kept diaries, wrote short stories and poems and wishes she had them all to look back on, but heartbreakingly, they were lost in the family diaspora (or possibly destroyed by an evil, conniving witch.) She was then uprooted and plonked in Cyprus- lost, sad and lonely.
After about 15000 traumatic, memorable, happy, exciting, painful, heartbreaking, heartwarming, apocalyptic, educational, abusive, magical, loving paradigm shifting and finally life changing events later, she is back in the UK, with a gorgeous baby boy, an amazing superhero of a husband and precious little blog that, from nothing, is now something of which she is immensely proud. As she has an thorough dislike of pigeonholing, types and categories, her blog is an amalgam of thoughts, insights, opinions some amazing recipes and a great big portion of heart, soul and creativity.
So against all odds and popular opinion, she became an amazing mummy, a effing legend of a wife and a pretty fantastic (though, I repeat, unpublished) writer. So having been a singer, an English and drama teacher and an all round delightful person, she now devotes her time to her beautiful family, developing her little blog and maybe having the courage one day to publish her collection of children’s poetry on WordPress. Maybe.
She eagerly awaits her new Bloghouse title so as to lord it over other bloggers and go ‘ner, ner, ner, ner, neeer, ner.’ “
Though relatively new to the blogosphere, Maria has made an impact with her cheery style, funny and insightful posts and blhonesty (what you see is what you get!). I highly recommend checking out Maria’s Guest in Jest post for a snapshot into a Super Wife and Mummy’s brain!
It is my pleasure to welcome a superhero (self-proclaimed or otherwise) into our Bloghouse, and I dub Maria, a member of the Outcast’s Bloghouse and Resident Super Hero.
Welcome Maria and here’s your very own Outcast’s Bloghouse logo to display on your blog.
*Remember; if you’re a fan of the Bloghouse and would like to get in on the silliness and become an Outcast’s Bloghouse member, contact me and point me in the direction of your bio!
Welcome, Maria!
So excited to see you here. And to learn your name (both real and outcast)!
Maria and I have recently been exchanging comments on each other’s blogs. What a small world to bump into her here, as well. (And if this blog is how we initially met and I’m just clueless, well, then let me apologize now.) I agree, Jess—her site is fabulous. And so is she.
Thrilled you’re here, Maria!
