So, as many of you know, life recently dealt me a hand of lemons and forgot to pass me the pitcher, water and sugar. I was stuck with lemons for a few weeks and felt thouroughly miserable as a result.
However, I’m now starting to get back on the horse (to messily mix metaphors) and am getting physically better with every day. My pain is a lot less and I can almost move without grunting like an asthmatic warthog now.
My mental health is still a bit precarious but I have been able to write a few chapters of Guns of Perdition during my time off. I consider this to be a bit of a win. It still feels like the novel that just won’t end, but I’m definitely into the ‘last act’ now.
So, day by day I’m getting back to my old self. There will be struggles in front I’m sure (especially where my mental health is concerned) but for now I’m happy just to be able to touch the floor again!
Also, stay tuned… a Guns of Perdition excerpt is coming soon!
Great to hear you’re on the mend. I shall look forward to the new excerpt.

You sound much improved. Well done on being able to get some writing done. I’ll be ready with a cheer the day you can walk across the room with no pain.

Aww, that’s kind. I was going to burn it at the stake, and stir the ashes with a silver blade.

I’m so glad to hear the axis of life has started to realign for you. You’ve been through a rough patch and it isn’t easy to spring quickly back into routine. If the glass is starting to look half full instead of half empty you’re on the way there. 🙂
I can’t wait to see the excerpt of Guns!

I’m glad you’re finally starting to feel better; and congratulations on the progress with your novel. There’s always a time right in the middle when it feels as though the book will never end, but you’ll get through it. Write on! 🙂

Glad you’re feeling better, Jess. I always use sick-time as an excuse to write, guilt-free.

Nah, still have the guilt, but at least it’s only guilt about being sick not guilt about NOT writing.
