Thank you all for the thoughts and well wishes as I recently underwent emergency surgery. Special thanks to Mohamad for his very touching post wishing me all the best.
I’m home and resting now, and although the pain is considerably less, and quite well managed, I’m in a very bad mental state. Whether it’s post-op blues or all the different pills I’m taking, I’m very depressed and flat. I have no interest in writing, blogging or any of the usual things I enjoy. I’m doubting everything and questioning a lot of things in my life, (from work, to writing to where I live) so I mightn’t be around much for a few weeks as I straighten some things out.
In the meantime, my scheduled posts will still appear though I am behind on rescheduling Outcasts memberships. I will try to get on top of that, but I apologise if I’m MIA for a while.
Thank you again for your well wishes; means a lot to me.
Jess
Aww, Jess. I’m so sorry to hear about your physical/emotional battles. I hope you get well soon. ❤

Doubt, rest, re-set–but come back to reading even if you don’t write. I have no good reason for my moody blues lately, but I always find and figure myself out through writing, which begins with an idea, which usually begins with reading. Feel better soon!

Sorry to hear about your bad mood, but it’s something that happens, sometimes.
Take care of your health while you recover from your surgery, and do not worry too much about writing, blogs and stuff. Take some time for yourself. Things will get better.

Thanks Dave. I wish I could take some time off from ME. My own head’s the biggest problem sometimes.

I know how it happens, and I think we discussed this in the past. I usually take a day off, and forget about all the rest.
But different people have different ways to cope, of course.

Aww, Jess I’m so sorry you’re having a rough time of it. Any surgery is a traumatic experience for the body and I would imagine emergency surgery exacts a harsher toll. It’s understandable why you’re in such a bad mental state, but it WILL pass. Just give yourself time and know that your friends wish you well and will be here when you’re ready to come bouncing back with your usual powerhouse of energy. {{hugs}}

Meds can really mess with your head, but hopefully you won’t need to keep on taking so many of them. I hope this dark cloud passes soon. X

Hey Jessica! Sorry you are feeling flat…It will pass though! I’ve been told the anaesthesia can do that. Makes you moody or down. Give yourself time to heal and don’t put pressure on yourself. You need this time! Sending healing thoughts to you ❤

Well, I hope all the comments ahead of mine help you rise from the depressed state you’re in — my Hep C recovery was Killer and my Stroke recovery the same…
Forcing myself to write is sometimes the only bucket to use to stay afloat 🙂

Thanks Alexander. Good point; if there ever was a time to embrace writing, this is it!

Take care. Physical pain and (for me at least) the state of helplessness associated with surgery can certainly induce mental pain. Give yourself time and take back control. x

I’m sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. It’s never fun to feel that way, but sometimes that’s how we get through what’s troubling us.
I hope you are as kind with yourself as you have been with others.
