Howdy all! Yes, another award! This time the deliciously named Darque Dreamer, of Darque Dreamer Reads has nominated me for The Unique Blogger Award. If you haven’t popped over to DDR, I suggest you get on over now and check out the fabulous book reviews from the mistress of all things carnivale!
I have also been nominated for this award by dear Roda of Growing Self; the sweetest, nature-loving, green thumb, cook extraordinaire on WP! Pop on over and check out Roda’s site if you’ve never been and take the time to grow a little…
The point of The Unique Blogger Award is to allow you to nominate those blogs that you find unique and different, and show them some love!
- Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
- Answer their questions.
- In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
- Ask them 3 questions.
Have you ever had a dream about a book, and if so, what happened?
How lame is it to answer this with, yes, I dream about the books I am writing and often get ideas for what will happen to the characters based on my dreams? Of course this only works sometimes… sometimes I just dream about a potato.
What movie or television show have you watched, that surprised you, that it was not based off of a book?
The film Boogie Nights comes to mind. It is such a rich movie filled with detailed characters and random, interesting story arcs it seems the sort of content that should have come from a book. I hear it is loosely inspired by events in the writer/director’s own life! If you haven’t seen this flick, go check it out. Seriously.
Tell me about that one book you will always recommend, no matter how many others enter your favorites list.
I have a favourite book mostly based on nostalgia, but a book that I would recommend to just about anyone is probably Ice Station by fellow Aussie Matthew Reilly. It has action, suspense, intrigue, humour and is constant ‘go’ from the first page. I don’t know anyone who’d find it a disappointment.
If you could pick a book to turn into a movie adaptation, what would it be?
I’m going to be shameless here and say my own WIP Guns of Perfition, purely because I want to see who would play my characters! I’ve mentally cast some but it would be nice to see who Hollywood would pick!
What inspires you most about your blog?
Getting feedback and comments from all my lovely followers. I put stuff out here to encourage comments and to entertain. When I hear that’s been achieved it makes me so happy!
What author inspires you (doesn’t have to be a book; can be a film director or music composer)?
Stephen King has been a huge inspiration. His turn of phrase and unique ideas are gold. Especially his early stuff. I’m also inspired by Vince Gill who came up with the amazing characters and twisting plot line in television’s Breaking Bad. What kind of brain came up with that?!
- What is it that makes your blog unique?
- What book genre is your favourite and why?
- Do you prefer the book version or the movie version?
I’m going to try something a little unconventional in the nomination process; I’m throwing it open to ALL of my Followers, especially those who may be following me quietly in the background but have yet to pop up and comment. This is your chance to introduce yourself to the community!!
