This week’s member inducted into The Oucast’s Bloghouse is the sweet-souled gardener and nature (and life) lover Roda.
Creator of the very inspirational Growing Self blog, Roda inspires her readers with her positive outlook, self-aware musings and down to earth (literally) commentary on life as a hobby farmer.
Roda has the best snapshot of her life which I believe sums up her gentle spirit and love of nature in two succinct paragraphs:
“I am married to my soulmate, my wife, my voice of reason, my rock. Throughout this blog, I will refer to her as “wifey”. Let’s just say, she is a bit on the shy side! I am blessed with 3 beautiful, talented and hormonal teenagers. (Love them) I spent 22 years teaching elementary education. Two years ago, I closed that door and opened a new one… It has been over these past two years that I have focused on “Growing Self”.
I have always been an avid gardener of flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables. Gardening brings me peace, joy and contentment. It allows me to live in the moment, as challenging as that can be! There is something so therapeutic about digging in the cool, moist soil, planting a seed and tending to a young, tender life. Leaving my career in education has allowed me to explore and expand not only my gardening, but my dream of becoming a hobby farmer. I am a proud mama of 2 horses, 4 goats, 2 dogs, 8 cats, 24 ducks and 84 chickens. Anything that walks up the driveway, has a home here at Indigo Acres!”
As well as having her hands dirty from the farm, Roda loves having her hands covered with paint when she gets into her artwork. Roda also enjoys photography, hiking, kayaking and travel. To chill out, she practices yoga and meditation and gets to know her inner self.
Feeling inspired yet? I am. In the words of this soul-guru; “[be] passionate about life… eat clean / go green and just be you!”
A woman to give Gaia a run for her money, I dub Roda a member of the Outcast’s Bloghouse and Cleanser of Darkened Spirits and Souls.
Welcome Roda and I gift you this Outcast’s Bloghouse logo to display on your own blog (care of the very gorgeous Millie Schmidt! )
